====================================================================== Title : Xenon Substance Filename : XS.zip Author : Daniel Aashage E-mail : resurrection666@hotmail.com Web Page : None. Misc. Author Info : Iīm an 18 year old Duke fantast, whoīs totally stuck in Duke3D. Other Levels : Firstone.zip Easykill.zip Diamonds.zip Mirages.zip This is just some of my levels and Iīve also worked on an episode with new enemies and stuff but Iīve only made two of the six total maps that are to be included in this episode, called: Resurrection. Description : This is a Doom inspired map with a lot of secrets and bad guys. It all started when Duke Nukem was on his way to another top secret mission. He fell down through a long, long vent and became pretty hurt. But he found a nurse who could help him, and he has totally recovered from his injuries when he enters this mission. He has to kill all the alien bastards and return to the water where he belongs. Just kiddinī, Duke is a landlabber and will always be, so he takes a deep breath until he is on his way to next set of missions. See you in the sequel of XS, XSII. I havenīt started on that map yet so be patient, it will come sometime. Why "XS" and "Xenon Substance"? - I tested some short names like, X-Ray, Xenon and XS and found out that X and S worked very good to- gether and because of that it is XS. "Xenon Substance" - yeah right, I thought of a good combination of the two initials X īn S and looked in a dictionary for one and found Xenon; somewhat of a chemical, and substance; you know what it is. I donīt want to boast but I think this is a excellent map, and please help me to make it popular, ie. send me any comment about it and if you havenīt any, just have fun with it!!! Additional Credits To : Special thanks to the 3DRealms group for Duke Nukem 3d. Also credits to Matt Tagliaferri and 3DRealms for their Official Duke Nukem3d level design handbook. Thanks to Ken Averill for having creating an excellent map, and for having written the words under "Important notes", they made me think of every details and shading etc. Also thanks to all who make levels out there and thanks to the team behind the excellent Duke site: Dukeworld.com, it really rocks!!! ====================================================================== * Play Information * Episode and Level # : E4L1 Single Player : Yes DukeMatch 2-8 Player : No Cooperative 2-8 Player : No Difficulty Settings : Yes Plutonium Pak Required : Yes New Art : No New Music : No New Sound Effects : No New .CON Files : No Demos Replaced : No ===================================================================== * Construction * Base : New level from scratch Level Editor(s) Used : Build Art Editor(s) Used : None Construction Time : About 3 weeks, off and on. Known Bugs/Problems : Iīm angry, wooohh what Iīm angry ībout this motherfucking shit that occures when you, accidentely, makes one single sector more than the maximum amount, grrr...!!! Look for yourself and if you can solve the problems, pleassse let me know how!!! (Iīve changed some, but there may be more) * Where to get this MAP file * File location : At dukeworld.com, i.e. http://www.dukeworld.com/ ===================================================================== *Important Information* Installation : To INSTALL: Simply unzip the XS.zip file to your Duke Nukem 3d directory and youīre done. Important Notes : This level would be much more detailed and maybe even bigger and funnier to play if the limits in Build, i.e. 1024 sectors, 8192 walls and 4096 sprites, were larger. My last level had to be reduced when the limits were reached. I had made some walls when suddenly the sector disappeared. I couldnīt understand the error but as I looked at the number of walls I understood that it was there the problem was. So I deleted several walls and was pretty angry. Almost the same problem occured when creating this level but instead it was the limit of the number of sectors that was reached. If someone has a program or a patch or anything to solve this problem, please let me know. Build has limits, very boring limits, but is still the only (?) program that enables you to make your own levels to Duke Nukem 3D. AND REMEMBER: You may do whatever you want with this map as long as you INCLUDE this TEXT FILE!!! ======================================================================
